Philip Joseph Lippolis III, age 14, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, after a 10-year battle with cancer. Born on April 25, 2006, Philip dedicated his life to helping people and inspiring others to do the same.
Philip loved his family. He treasured time four wheeling and building Legos with his dad. He made blankets with his grandmother to donate to hospitals. Sometimes it was entertaining them with videos featuring himself singing while playing his ukulele. In his family, Philip built bonds of strength and love that he used to touch so many lives.
Unable to attend school in person, Philip worked with Grahamtastic Connection to become Walpole’s first remote student via use of a specially designed robot - ‘Philbot.’ With the support of the wonderful staff at Boyden Elementary, especially the amazing Mrs. Ivatts, Philip experienced school with his friends. Philip agreed to be a CNN Hero and attended a CNN Heroes event in NYC to build awareness for Philbot and Grahamtastic so other children would get access to this technology.
He loved to laugh, and he loved to build friendships. Philip built a special friendship with the officers on Walpole PD. Officers, including K9 Rebel, were often seen laughing and talking with Philip. They helped Philip be a part of his community, even when he could not leave home.
Described as a source of happiness, kindness, silliness, patience, and strength, Philip spent his life smiling. He touched hearts. He saw beauty in all things. He left the world better than he found it.
Philip is the beloved son of Philip Joseph Lippolis, Jr., cherished grandson of Jean Marie and Robert Allen and Debra and Philip Joseph Lippolis, Sr. both of Walpole, adored nephew of Vickie Lippolis of Walpole and Pamela and Michael Mitchell of Foxborough, and loving cousin of Maxine Harevich, Paige Booth, Billie Prescott, and Logan Mitchell. He is also survived by his beloved dog and faithful companion, Bubbah.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Philip's Life Celebration on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. As a result of the ongoing and ever-developing health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people whom they love, Philip's family has decided that his funeral service will be private, with interment taking place in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Grahamtastic Connection, 21 Bradeen Street, Suite 107, Springvale, Maine 04083 or at www.grahamtastic.org
