Peter Mancini age 73 years died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, February 5, 2011. Born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy on March 16, 1937; he was the son of the late Sante and Paolina (Michetti) Mancini. He was raised and educated in Italy. He came to the United States in 1954 and settled in Walpole, Massachusetts, where he has lived ever since.
He was a manager at International Paper (formerly the Kendall Company) for 39 years.
Mr. Mancini managed the Italian American Club in Walpole for 13 years, and he enjoyed playing bocce in tournaments there.
He was a dedicated Catholic and attended Mass every week at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. He also enjoyed playing Italian card games and growing tomatoes and Italian green beans in his garden. Most of all, however, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Diane M. (Ingle) Mancini. Loving father of Deanna Coutu of Walpole, Julie Gauthier of Walpole, Lynda Loebelenz of Norton, and Andrew Mancini of Norwood. Cherished grandfather of Peter Daignault, Jessica, Alyssa, and Isabella Gauthier, Maria and Erik Loebelenz, and Max Mancini. Brother of Secondo Mancini of Walpole.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
