Mr. Peter J. Hoefler age 73 years died on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 in the Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Born in Dunkirk, New York on May 2, 1938; he was the son of Claudius J. and Julia M. (Green) Hoefler. He graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School with the Class of 1956. He entered the United States Navy and proudly served his country as a Petty Officer. He then returned to school and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Tri State University in Indiana with the Class of 1962.
Mr. Hoefler was a transformer specialist, inspecting transformers and generators for the Arkwright Boston Insurance Company. Prior to that he worked at General Electric, The New York State Power Company, and for General Motors with the AC Sparkplug Division.
He was a summer resident of Falmouth since 1993, moving there from Walpole in 2001. He had lived in Walpole 23 years.
Mr. Hoefler was a member of the Falmouth Council of the Knights of Columbus, The Elks Club in Dunkirk, NY, the National Rifle Association, and the American Legion in Sandwich. In addition he was a member of the Professional organizations IEEE and ASME.
He enjoyed discussing politics, religion, and history, playing golf, biclycing, spending time the beach and in the the sunshine.
Beloved husband of Judith B.(Hanrahan) Hoefler. Loving father of Jeffrey J. Hoefler of Westwood, Michael S. Hoefler of Allen, Texas, Jennifer L. Condon of Medway, and Katherine A. Skogseth of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Kelsey, Kenny, Jimmy, Zach, Timmy, Kendall, Tommy, and Anna. Brother of the late Mary Fredrick.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 4PM to 8PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne.
