Mr. Percy S. Hayward age 80 years died on Friday, July 11th, 2008 in the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood, Massachusetts. Mr. Hayward was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on October 22, 1927, to his parents Albert and Stella (Taylor) Hayward. He graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1945 and immediately entered the United States Navy and served his country during World War II.
A resident of Walpole for 75 years, after his wife Evelyn died he moved in with his son and lived in S. Windsor, Ct for 4 years and most recently in Attleboro
Mr. Hayward retired in 1993 from G.T.E. in Waltham, with 10 years of service and an electronics techinician. He had worked at Electradyne in Walpole before that.
Percy loved electronics and especially gadgets. If something new come on the market he was the first to investigate it, learning how to use it, and how it was constructed. He also enjoyed sailing, was a huge Red Sox fan, Patriots fan, and read all he could about electronics. At age 80 he was setting out to learn the computer.
However his greatest love was for his his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Friday, July 18, 2008 @ 10 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, Massachusetts.
