Paul J. Pelletier Jr., age, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 13, 1932, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Ann Agnes (Shaughnessy) Pelletier. Paul was raised in Mattapan and Hyde Park and graduated from Hyde Park High School with the Class of 1950. Following his graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was stationed with the 3310th USAF Hospital at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. Paul was honorably discharged from the Air Force in January of 1955 after earning the rank of Airman First Class. Upon his return home to Boston, Paul quickly found work with the Boston Edison Company working as a lineman.
Paul married his beloved wife, his bride Mary Jane Coen on July 7, 1956 in Saint Mark's Church in Dorchester. Shortly after their wedding, Paul and Mary Jane settled into their newly built home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Paul continued his career with Boston Edison spending some time working in the underground division before returning to work as a lineman. He retired from the Edison as a leader lineman in 1992, after 37 years of dedicated service.
At home, Paul loved being Mr. Fix It, ensuring his home was always in tip top shape. He could also be found out in his driveway working on his cars. The work was put on hold whenever the Patriots, Celtics, or Red Sox were on as Paul would sit back in his recliner cheering on his hometown teams.
Paul shared a loving relationship with his wife Mary Jane for 62 years. Together they enjoyed traveling around the country and especially loved spending time in Bermuda, where they renewed their wedding vows. In their retirement years, Paul and Mary Jane spent their winters in their home in LeHigh Acres, Florida where they enjoyed watching Red Sox Spring Training Camps.
