Mr. Paul R. Mikalauskas age 82 years died suddenly in the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday, June 18, 2010. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 23, 1928, he was the son of John and Theresa (Connolly) Mikalauskas. He was a 1946 graduate of Hyde Park High School and attended Northeastern Univeristy at night until he earned his degree in Engineering in 1958. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.
A resident of East Walpole since 1954, he moved from Dedham.
Mr. Mikalauskas was an electrical engineer for over 40 years retiring from Waters Equipment in Framingham, and was previously employed by Raytheon in Quincy and NASA in Cambridge.
He was a member of the Norwood Elks, the Norwood Retired Mens Club , the South Norwood Coffee Group, an active member of St. Marys Church East Walpole, and a member of the American Legion Dedham Post.
He loved to play horseshoes especially at the Norwood Elks and loved to spend time with his family and his grandchildren in their Lake Pearl home.
Beloved husband of the late Patricia Ann (Murdock) Mikalauskas. Loving father of Joan Mikalauskas , Marie Maloney both of Walpole , Patricia Eichinger of East Walpole, and the late Paul T. Mikalauskas. Cherished grandfather of Nicole T. Mikalauskas of Walpole, Timothy and Teresa Eichinger of East Walpole. Brother of the late Margaret Staskunas. Also survived many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street East Walpole on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday June 22, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
