Patrick P. Nee, age 84, died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 10, 1930, he was the son of the late John P. and Bridget (Mulkerrin) Nee. He was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School with the class of 1949. His love of sports started at a young age, playing high school football before playing Semi Professional Football for the Chippawahs.
He married the love of his life, Dorothy V. Susan, on September 15, 1951, and together they made their home in South Boston. Shortly after their wedding, Patrick was inducted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germary for just over a year and was honorably discharged in 1954.
After his return from the Army, Patrick took a position with Bethlehem Steel in Quincy. It was during this time that Patrick and his wife Dorothy moved with their young family to 22 Bellflower Street in Dorchester and they settled in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1969.
In 1962, Patrick earned a position with the Boston Police Department as a patrolman. He later earned the position of Detective in 1985 and retired in 1995, after 33 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston. Patrick remained a member of the Boston Police Department Relief Association and enjoyed the Wednesday Morning Breakfasts with the other retirees.
As a member of the Walpole community, Patrick was a parishoner of Blessed Sacrement Church, the Kinghts of Columbus Council 1319, where he was a member of the 4th Degree, and the Walpole VFW Post 5188. His love of sports continued throughout his life and he enjoyed following them on TV. He also enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Foxwoods. Most of all, Patrick was a true family man, as a devoted husband of 64 years, and a devoted father and grandfather, he loved all the time that he spent with his family, especially watching his children and grandchildren compete in atheletic events.
