Around 10pm on April 4th, 2024, Heaven gained a true angel, Patricia “Patty” Millette. She was a warrior, so strong, tough, and brave. She battled cancer (she hated that word) head on, not once but twice. She rarely complained no matter what she was going through. She hated inconveniencing anyone for anything and was genuinely loved by all.
Patty is survived by her husband, Frank Millette, two children, Joe Millette and his fiancée Heather Jones, Lauren Gawlak and her husband, Billy Gawlak, and her two grandchildren, Adeline and Sophie Gawlak.
Patty grew up in Boston, MA and eventually moved to Walpole, MA with her mom and dad, Irene and Tom Tracey. She was one of 16 children, yes 16 children, that was not a typo. Patty was the second oldest in the very large family. Everyone knew the Tracey bunch: Linda Clifton, Donna Quigley, Sandra Tracey, Kathleen Waple, Jackie Titus, Cindy Smith, Debbie Lightbody, Michelle Melanson, Virginia Tracey, Thomas Tracey, Wendy Hayes, Karen Tracey, Michael Tracey, David Tracey and Mary Tracey.
It was in the 1970s when she met her husband, Frank Millette. They got married on September 5, 1980. They had some great times as Frank was recalling some things the other night such as Martha’s Vineyard for their honeymoon, countless trips to NH, motorcycle rides, casino trips and family getaways.
Patty and Frank had their son, Joseph Millette on July 24, 1984, and their daughter, Lauren Millette on December 26, 1987. She truly loved them, being goofy with them and would do anything for them.
They fondly remember family “mystery rides”, listening to police scanners, flea markets, knickknacks, and yard sales. Patty loved Nantasket beach, hunting for sea glass, being by the water with her toes in the sand. She loved spending time with her family, especially the large holiday and birthday parties. Patty enjoyed the casino, bingo nights, working at Gillette Stadium, watching the Patriots play, using random emojis while texting and lukewarm coffee.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sitting outside watching them play. They lit her up and made her laugh out loud. They loved their “Amma” with all of their hearts. Most recently Patty and Frank moved to Salem, NH with Lauren and her family. She was able to spend so much time with those little girls and that put a smile on her face every day.
She was a selfless, blue-collar, no-frills saint. We love and miss you so much and know that you’ll be with us no matter what we do. Mom, look over us, continue to protect us and be our guardian angel. Love ya!
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Patty’s Life Celebration on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
