Pat was a Cub Scout Leader as well as the adult advisor for the Marian Award for the Girl Scouts. She was the adult advisor for the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Youth Organization for many years and due to her outstanding success with the youth, she was conferred the national "God and Youth Award" by Humberto Cardinal Medeiros, an award for men and women who have distinguished themselves by their commitment and quality of their service on behalf of the youth.
