Patricia A. Leavitt

March 6, 1942 — April 6, 2022

Patricia A. (Sousa) Leavitt, fondly known as “Patty”, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at her home in Bourne, Massachusetts.  Born in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts on March 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Voci) Sousa.  She was raised in Brockton and West Bridgewater, attending the West Bridgewater Public Schools, where, as a young girl, she marched in various parades as a majorette.

Patricia married her beloved husband, Carl E. Leavitt, on December 29, 1974, and together they made their home in Norfolk, Massachusetts.  After welcoming her children, Patricia took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her children at various times of her life.  In addition to raising her family, Patricia enriched her life as a traveling Tupperware saleswoman.  She considered Tupperware parties social events and enjoyed visiting her large friend pool for these gatherings. In more recent years, Patricia lived with her daughter and her family in Norton for a short time, before living with her son and his family in Somerset. Three and a half years ago, she moved to a facility in Sandwich. She most recently came home to Bourne for her final chapter of life.

Throughout her life, Patricia enjoyed listening to music, and especially loved any song by Elvis. Her love of music led her to a passion for dancing, even in her wheelchair in her later years.  She will be fondly remembered for her easy-going ways, acceptance of everyone she met, her ability to make the best out of every day, and her love of pink roses.

Beloved wife of the late Carl E. Leavitt.

Loving mother of Richard Marshall of Springfield, Sandra Rainey of Florida, James Marshall of Fall River, William Marshall of Providence, Rhode Island, Jesserie Leavitt of Bourne, and the late Henry "Buddy" Marshall.

Cherished grandmother of many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sister of George Sousa and his wife, Judy, of Florida.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Patricia visitation on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 11 AM to 1 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A graveside service will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Walpole.
