Patricia Ann (O’Brien) Barsky, 84, of Walpole, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Born in Boston on September 15, 1940, she was the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Jasinski) O’Brien. Raised in South Boston, “Pat” attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy graduating in 1958 before attending Boston State College, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1962. She served Boston’s youth by teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grades for Boston Public Schools.
Pat met the love of her life, Francis “Frank” J. Barsky, while attending the wedding of mutual friends. They were married on June 29, 1967, at St. Denis Church in Westwood, Massachusetts. The couple made their home in Walpole, Massachusetts, where they raised their three children.
In 1970, with the birth of her first child, Pat became a stay-at-home mother and a passionate “home creator.” When her children entered school themselves, Pat revisited her passion for education by taking a position in the media center at Fisher School in Walpole.
With the untimely passing of her sister, Pat became a second mother to her nieces.
Pat’s heart was fulfilled when she became “Grandma.” Never missing a birthday party, sporting event, dance recital, graduation, or an opportunity to share her favorite baked good—pumpkin bread—with her grandchildren.
Pat enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, decorating, travelling, relaxing with nonfiction books, listening to the Bee Gees, and sipping a cup of coffee with her favorite lemon or chocolate dessert. She was a lover of all animals.
