Norman Lanier, age 62, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2024. in Lakeland, Florida from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Norwood, MA on July 27, 1961, Norman was the son of the late John R. Lanier and Lois M. (Fitzgerald). Norman spent his early life in Walpole, Massachusetts where he graduated from Walpole High School, class of 1979. Following graduation, Norman enlisted in the US Navy. He completed his naval training in Chicago and was then stationed at Pearl Harbor for the duration of his enlistment. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in 1983.
Norman was a quiet, hard-working man. When he wasn’t working hard, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. For him, holidays were a very special time of the year.
Norman loved to golf and cheer on his favorite sports teams. He was a true New England fan, following the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and his beloved Patriots.
Loving father, brother and uncle, Norman is survived by his two children, Jacqualyn Massey of Waynesville, North Carolina and Jake Lanier of Tampa, Florida, his sister Ruth Mahoney and her husband James of Scituate, his sister Jane Montaquila and her husband Richard of Port Charlotte, Florida, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John J. Lanier.
He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
At the request of Norman’s family, all funeral services will be private.
