Mr. Nicholas Aurilio, 78, died at the Caritas Norwood Hospital on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on May 15, 1931, the son of Nicola and Erminia (Caleo) Aurilio. He graduated from Walpole Senior High School with the Class of 1949. Entered into the United States Air Force in March, 1951 and served his country during the Korean War. Upon his return, he worked at Hollingsworth and Vose Company in East Walpole, and retired in 1993 as the Master Electrician after 42 years of service. Mr. Aurilio was a talented woodcarver, and enjoyed working and teaching with his brother-in-law Dick Tripp as Stetson Pond Carvers.
Mr. Aurilio lived most of life in Walpole, the past 2 years in Wrentham, and has been a summer resident of Raymond, New Hampshire for the past 10 years.
He loved his lake house in Raymond and spending time with family and friends. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Baker) Aurilio Loving father of Maria and Jack Aurilio-Rea of Walpole, Dorothy J. and Bill Alexander of Wrentham, and Elizabeth C. and David Lennon of Norton Cherished grandfather of William, Steven, and Elizabeth Cruickshank, Mark, and Nicola Alexander, and Daniel Lennon. Brother of Dorothy Tripp of North Attleboro, Rose Patchin of New Hampshire, Virginia Aurilio of Walpole, and the late Eva Finley.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitng hours at the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 2pm to 6pm.
