Neil John McGrath

Mr. Neil John McGrath, Jr. age 81 years died surrounded by his family, in his Sharon Home on Sunday Morning, June 13th, 2010. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 21, 1928, the son of Neil J. and Helen (Richard) McGrath. He was raised in Boston.

He graduated from Commerce High School with the Class of 1946, and immediately entered into the United States Coast Guard and served his country during World War II.

A 55 year resident of Sharon. He was a retired collector for the Boston Gas Company, with over 42 years of Service.

He was a member of the Sharon American Legion Post, Sharon VFW Post, and the Sharon Fish and Game Club

Beloved husband of Margaret (Hardiman) McGrath Loving father of Neil J. McGrath, III of N. Attleboro, Robert W. McGrath, John J. McGrath both of Sharon, William R. McGrath of Wrentham, Patricia McGrath, Linda M. McGrath both of Mansfield, Stephen M. McGrath of Foxboro, and Barry R. McGrath of Assonet. Cherished grandfather of 25 and great grandfather of 1 Brother of Helen Spaulding of CA, the late Richard McGrath, the late Ross R. McGrath and the late Gladys A. MacDonald Also survived by many nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Cottage Street Sharon on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 3pm to 8pm at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole . Interment Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
