Nancy R. Scardocci

September 29, 1939 — July 28, 2020

Nancy R. (Johnson) Scardocci, age 80, passed away peacefully in her East Walpole, Massachusetts home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Hans Oscar and Ruth (Pedersen) Johnson.  She was raised in Dedham, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1957.  Following her graduation, Nancy took a position with the Norfolk & Dedham Mutual Fire Insurance Company.

Nancy married her beloved husband, Sebastian Scardocci Jr., on September 22, 1961, in the Covenant Congregational Church of Forest Hills.  The young couple made their home together in Dedham, where Nancy took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.  In 1967, Nancy moved her family to East Walpole, Massachusetts, where she has made her home for the past 53 years.

Nancy also loved spending time at her vacation home in Augusta, Maine on Three Cornered Pond, where she enjoyed “yard sale-ing” and auctions - always looking for the perfect treasure to take home.  Back in Walpole, she loved working in her garden and was a longtime member of the Sharon Garden Club.  Gigi, as she was called by her grandchildren and many family friends, was an avid baker known for her blueberry muffins and her lemon meringue pie.  She passed her baking talents onto her grandchildren, who assembled each year at her home for Pie Day and made all the pies and desserts for Thanksgiving Day dinner.

Beloved wife of Sebastian Scardocci, Jr.
Loving mother of Maura S. Crisologo and her husband, Benedicto, of Los Angeles, California, Lynne S. Reagan and her husband, Myles, of East Walpole, and Sebastian Scardocci III and his wife, Heather, of Foxborough.
Cherished grandmother of Bryan R. Reagan, Amanda J. Reagan, Benjamin P. Reagan, Sara K. Scardocci, and Sebastian Mason Scardocci.
Sister of Judith Sebastian of Framingham, Beverly Haskell of Hulls Cove, Maine, and the late Phillip Johnson.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Nancy's Life Celebration on Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 2 to 5 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

As a result of the ongoing and ever-developing health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people whom they love, Nancy’s family has decided that her funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
