Nancy Marion (Lavallee) Connors, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at The Residence at Riverbend in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Born in Wrentham, Massachusetts on December 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leo N. and Beatrice B. (St. Laurent) Lavallee. She was raised and educated in Wrentham, and following her high school graduation, Nancy continued her education at Green Mountain College in Vermont. Nancy’s academic achievements led her to be named valedictorian of both her high school and college graduating classes.
Nancy fell in love with her beloved husband, Richard C. Connors, and they devoted themselves unconditionally to each other on November 12, 1955 in Saint Mary's Church of Wrentham. Together they made their home in a house trailer, while Richard finished his obligations to the US Army. They went on to live in rental homes in both Foxboro and Wrentham before completing construction on their home in Norfolk on Everett Street in 1961. Nancy and Richard's family grew when they adopted their son, Todd Leo in 1966 and welcomed their son, Christian Douglas in 1968.
Nancy loved traveling the world with her husband, Richard, but was most content at home in Norfolk, where she spent countless hours supporting her community. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, the Town of Norfolk dedicated a day to Nancy.
Most of all, Nancy was devoted to her family, friends, local politics, and her five o'clock scotch. Her candid opinions were appreciated by those closest to her and will be remembered by all.
Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Richard C. Connors.
Loving mother of Todd Leo Connors of Denver, Colorado and Christian Douglas Connors and his wife, Jessica, of Beverly.
Cherished grandmother of Lillian Elizabeth Connors and Coleman Matthew Connors both of Beverly.
Sister of the late Dorothy Meyer.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Nancy's Life Celebration on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 9 to 10 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
