N. Joseph Penza

Natali Joseph "Joe" Penza, age 81, died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Monday, May 19, 2014. Born in Walpole on January 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Domenic and Frances (DeGregorio) Penza. As a life long resident of Walpole, he graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1950. After high school, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Joe worked as a fencing salesman for many years. He also volunteered his time at the Walpole Senior Center and to place flags in the cemeteries in Walpole for Memorial Day. As an active member of the Italian American Club in Walpole, Joe enjoyed playing bocce at the club. Joe also enjoyed cooking and would regularly cook at the IA Club and the Senior Center. He especially loved cooking for his family.

He was an avid reader and looked forward to the nightly game of scrabble with his wife, Gloria. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Gloria R. (Rizun) Penza Loving father of Ann F. Donnelly and her husband Stephen of RI, Mary B. Penza of Foxboro, Gerard A. Penza and his wife Heather of Franklin, Teresa L. York of Texas, Heather Cherella and her husband Brian of Walpole and the late Janet E. Penza. Cherished grandfather of Jason, Myles, Jimmy, Jackie, Stephanie, Stephen, and Trever. Brother of Robert Penza of Medway, Marie Buchanan of TN, the late Domenic Penza, the late Carlo Penza, the late Pat Penza, the late Donald Penza, and the late Rita Penza. Also survived by his cat, Willie.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Joe's Life Celebration on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 4-8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
