Mina Goodwin, age 98, passed away in the Long-term Care Unit of Newbridge on the Charles, Dedham, Massachusetts, on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Mina was born on May 18, the third of child of Willian P. Watt and Mabel May (Manthorne) of Boston, MA. She is predeceased by brother Billy and sister Betty Hollis.
She attended West Roxbury schools and following education worked in downtown Boston in the fabrics business.
On March 3rd 1951, in a sunset service in the West Roxbury Congregational Church, she married Wesley R. Goodwin, also of West Roxbury.
In 1953 they bought a home in Walpole, MA, where they raised their family. Together they have five children, five grandsons and five, soon to be six, great-grandsons.
Mina was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her 98 years she raised her children, cared for her mother, celebrated the births of her grand and great-grand children, and buried her husband having, enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
She enjoyed many family summers at Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport, ME and later owned a cottage on Lake Cobbosseecontee, Litchfield, ME. With her husband she traveled to Bermuda and Scotland and spent many winters in Venice, FL. With so many children there was no end to the family celebrations and gatherings.
Mrs. Goodwin is survived by her sons Warren P. Goodwin and wife Maria, Scott D. Goodwin and wife Nancy, Wesley R. Goodwin, Jr. and wife Susan, Eric J. Goodwin, and daughter Donna M. Migdal and husband Michael. Proud Grammy of Adam and wife Kelly, Joshua and wife Kristina, Wesley and wife Jill, Colin and wife Katie, and Scott and wife Meg. Great-Grammy of Reese, Riley, Kane, Liam, and Arthur. Mina was also Aunt to loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mina's visitation on Monday, August 26th, 2024, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
