Mildred V. (Minihan) Walsh, age 96 years, died in the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Born in Revere, Massachusetts on August 17, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Richard Andrew and Caroline (Curtaz) Minihan. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Prior to the war, Mildred held various clerical positions in the City of Boston. After marrying her husband in 1948, she transitioned to a homemaker, raising and caring for her family in West Roxbury. She has been a resident of Walpole for the past 20 years.
Beloved wife of the late Robert R. Walsh. Loving mother of Robert R. and his wife Joan (Pauley) Walsh of Walpole, Edward D. and his wife Patricia (Smith) Walsh of Walpole, and John J. and his wife Lois (McNamara) Walsh of Walpole. Cherished grandmother of Courtney Anne (Walsh) Gillespie of Walpole, Andrew Edward Walsh of CO, Brian Nicholas Walsh of UT, John Thomas Walsh of Walpole, Natalie Claire Walsh of Walpole, and Steven Robert Walsh of Walpole and great grandmother of Ava Grace Gillespie and Thomas Paul Gillespie, III both of Walpole. Sister of the late Richard Minihan.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mildred's Life Celebration on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 4-8PM and Friday, February 21, 2014 from 9-9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole on Friday, February 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole, MA 02081.
