Michael Edward Herrity, age 57, passed away in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Sunday, August 16, 2020. Born in Brighton, Massachusetts on May 27th, 1963,he was the son of the late James and M. Virginia (Carroll) Herrity. He spent his early years in West Roxbury, before his family settled in Needham, where he graduated from Needham High School with the class of 1981. Mike continued his education, taking courses at both MassBay Community College and University of Massachusetts at Boston.
Mike had a love for Popponesset Beach in the town of Mashpee on Cape Cod, leading him to take a job working as a bartender in the Popponesset Inn. As an avid beach goer, he took any opportunity to sit by the ocean, whether on the Cape or his second favorite place, Marco Island in Florida. Mike later found his career in real estate, working as a broker, starting with Century 21, before taking a position with Coldwell Banker in Westwood. He spent more than 30 years caring for his real estate clients, developing many friendships along the way.
While Mike worked hard, he also knew how to cut loose and enjoy himself. As a very social man, he looked forward to a good party with one of his many groups of friends. However, it was his family that he was always most excited to see. As a devoted uncle, Mike loved being surrounded by his nieces and nephews, having a very special relationship with his niece Sara.
