Maureen Ann (Egan) Feeney, of Walpole passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Springfield, MA to the late Maurice and Bridget (Buckley) Egan. Maureen graduated from Our Lady of the Elms College (Chicopee, MA) and received her Masters of Education from Framingham State University (Framingham, MA). She was admired for her work as a highly respected and dedicated teacher for over 40 years in a number of schools in Massachusetts, primarily the Brown School in Natick, MA.
Maureen was the beloved wife of the late Daniel R. Feeney. She is survived by her loving family and will be missed as a treasured mother and "Nana" to Jodie Parsons (her late husband Edward Parsons), Joshua Feeney (his wife Tanya and son Benjamin), Erica Baril (her husband Brian and son Alex), John Feeney (his fiancé Megan Miller), Megan Feeney (her fiancé Alan Tremouliaris and daughter Kayleigh), Raymond Feeney, Nora Feeney and the late Shawn Feeney and Robert Feeney; devoted sister of Gerald Egan (his wife Elizabeth), Patricia Moynihan (her husband Francis), Dennis Egan (his wife Barbara), Kathleen Curley (her husband William) and Maurice Egan (his wife Maureen); adored aunt to many caring and loving nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to Lois Lambert and so many others.
Maureen's life was based upon her unwavering faith in God and her dedication to family and friends. She showed what it meant to truly love unconditionally to all those whose lives she touched. Maureen's steadfast commitment to helping others extended beyond those she knew, always offering a helping hand, encouragement, love, and compassion to any person who was in need. While the loss of Maureen will leave an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family, friends and even strangers, all are forever grateful and blessed that she was our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and kindhearted stranger who always gave more than she received. There is no more pain and no more suffering, only treasured memories and the love that Maureen gave to us all.
Rest in peace and until we meet again, goodbye to our beautiful Irish rose.
