Maureen V. (Mayo) Ciannavei, age 83, passed away surrounded by friends and family at Norwood Hospital on Wednesday July 4, 2018. Born in Canton, Massachusetts on February 6, 1935 she was the daughter to Clifford Mayo and Ida (Batte) Mayo. While being raised in Canton, Maureen attended St. Johns School and graduated Canton High School class of 1953. After Graduation Maureen went to work at John Hancock in Boston, Massachusetts as a secretary for 5 years.
After meeting the love of her life, Guido Ciannavei at the Echo Inn in Walpole in 1955, Maureen and Guido were married 2 short years later in St. John's Church in Canton, Massachusetts January 18, 1957. They made their home and raised their children in Walpole, eventually settling in Norwood in 2008. Maureen and Guido welcomed proudly their daughter Jean in 1958, their daughter Mary in 1959, and their son John in 1960.
Maureen was a homemaker for many years, raising her children and managing the household till the early 1980's when she went to work part time at the T.J. Maxx in Norwood at the Jewelry counter. Always one to be involved socially, Maureen participated in many clubs and made many lasting friendships with the Red Hats, Walpole Women's Club, and Walpole Italian American Club Bocce League.

Cherished Grandmother of Gian Cole Ciannavei and Christian Ciannavei of Burlington
Beloved sister of Clifford Mayo, Edward Mayo both of Stoughton, Aurthur Mayo of Canton, Richard Mayo of Stoughton, and the late Bobby Mayo.
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Maureen's Life Celebration on Sunday July 8, 2018 from 2 to 5PM and Monday July 9, 2018 from 9:00-9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
