Mary L. Young

May 2, 1932 — January 28, 2010

Mary L. (Cloherty) Young age 77 years died in the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Born in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts on May 2, 1932; she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nellie (Waldron) Cloherty. She graduated from Saint Thomas High School and went on to graduate from Emmanuel College. She later earned her Master's Degree from the Saint Louis University. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 10 years moving from Parsippany, New Jersey.

Mrs. Young was a social worker for 40 years; most recently working at the Childrens Specialized Hospital in Westfield, New Jersey, and previously at the Matheny School and Hospital in Peapack, New Jersey.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. She attended daily Mass at Saint Edward's Church in Medfield, Massachusetts. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

Beloved wife of the late Richard L. Young. Loving mother of Gregory J. Young of Natick, Maura L. Zigmont of Danville, NH, and Stephanie M. Vorcheimer of West Palm Beach, FL. Cherished grandmother of Cassandra, Colin, Camryn, Morgan, Sophie, Matthew, Zachary, and Alex. Sister of Patricia Fagan of West Roxbury and Sarah Dolan of Williamsburg, VA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at St. Edward's Church 133 Spring Street (Route 27) Medfield on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 2-6PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts. Memorial donations may be made to: Children's Hospital Trust 1 Autumn Street, #731 Boston, MA, 02215-5301.
