Mary E. Woodward

Mary E. (Chaffi) Woodward age 102 years died in the Ellis Nursing Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday, February 20, 2009. Born in East Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 27, 1906, she was the daughter of the late John and Flora (DeMaio) Chaffi. She had been living in East Walpole, Massachusetts since she was teenager, moving from East Cambridge.

She worked as a compositor for the Plimpton Press.

Mrs. Woodward was a member of the Boston Typographical Union #13 and the AFL-CIO Communication Workers of America.

Beloved wife of the late Charles E. Woodward. Sister of the late Catherine Murphy, the late Frances Benson, the late John Chaffi, the late Madeline MacKey, the late Matilda Verrochi, and the late Rose Daddario. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church Washington Street E. Walpole on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours and interment are private. Memorial donations may be made to: the charity of one's choice.
