Mary C. Tarchea

Mary C. (Wall) Tarchea, age 86, passed away in the Boston Medical Center on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on December 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Connolly) Wall. She was raised in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1949.

Mary married her husband, Peter F. Tarchea, on August 10, 1952 and the young couple made their home together in Walpole, where they welcomed their two children, Peter, Jr. and Evelyn. Mary found work at the A&P in Walpole center and later worked for the Walpole Police Department as a crossing guard for many years.

Throughout her life, Mary enjoyed sewing, making repairs and alterations to her family's clothing. She was also an avid New England Sports Fan, and loved cheering on the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox. In her later years, Mary enjoyed daily visits to Dunkin Donuts, spending time at Bird Park in East Walpole, and shopping at Kohls and the Christmas Tree Shops.

Loving mother of Peter F. Tarchea, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Central, South Carolina and the late Evelyn A. Tarchea.
Cherished grandmother of Kevin Watts of South Carolina and great grandmother of Koty and Kaden Watts.
Sister of Peter Wall of Norwood, the late William Wall, the late Joseph Wall, and the late Frank Wall.
Also survived by her devoted companion, John Russo of Walpole.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mary's visitation on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Burn Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital, 51 Blossom Street Boston, MA 02114.
