Mary Jane (Coen) Pelletier, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on October 12, 1932, she was the daughter of John H. and Beatrice (McLaughlin) Coen. She was raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts on Centre Street. She attended Arch Bishop Cardinal Cushing High School and graduated with the Class of 1950. She took a position with the Boston Edison Company, working as a part of the Meter Division, where she met her soon to be husband, Paul. She later took a position at New England Telephone as an Operator.
Mary married her beloved husband, Paul J. Pelletier Jr., on July 7, 1956 at Saint Mark's Parish in Dorchester. The couple made their home together in Walpole, at which time Mary became a dedicated homemaker. Once her children grew up, she began working in the Stone School Cafeteria. She later returned to New England Telephone, retiring in 1991.
Mary and Paul began spending their time together in Leigh Acres, Florida, eventually purchasing a winter home there. She loved attending the Irish dances in Boston on Saturday Nights with Paul, a tradition that she had started when she was a young woman. Mary was frequently found with her nose in a book. She also loved shopping as well as traveling She was an incredible baker and cook. Her chocolate chip cookies in particular, were a family favorite. More than anything, Mary liked to spend her time with her family, whether it was at home or on a trip to Disney.

Nurturing grandmother to Stephanie Emmi of Connecticut, Shaun Callahan of Norwood, Katherine Clare of Plainville, and Daniel Clare of Walpole.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mary Jane's Life Celebration on Friday, October 5 from 4PM to 7 PM and Saturday, October 6 from 9 AM to 9:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole. Interment at St. Joseph's, West Roxbury. Memorial donations may be made in Mary Jane's memory to: Shriner's Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston MA 02114, or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
