Mary Ellen Mason

Mary Ellen (McGrath) Mason age 70 years died in her Sharon, Massachusetts home on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Born in Northhampton, Massachusetts on January 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Connery) McGrath. She graduated from the Howard School for Girls in East Bridgewater with the class of 1961 and went on to graduate from Boston State College with the class of 1968. She has been a resident of Sharon for the past 38 years, moving there from Canton and Hyde Park.

Mrs. Mason was an elementary school teacher and a school librarian in the Boston Public Schools. She retired in 2003 with 30 years of service.

She was a member of the Sharon Fortnightly Club and was the current president and was the former treasurer of the Sharon Garden Club. In addition she was a member of the Boston Teachers Union and the Moose Hill Audubon Society.

Beloved wife of Thomas W. Mason. Loving mother of Kelly Ann Jossart of Pelham, NY, and Andrew M. Mason of Dorchester. Cherished grandmother of Caroline Rose Jossart of NY. Sister of Catherine Hersey of Shutesbury.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows 59 Cottage Street Sharon on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 2-6 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be private.
