Mary C. Markt

Mary C. (Grady) Markt age 79 years died in her Plainville, Massachusetts home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 28, 2011. Born in Watertown, Massachusetts on December 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph I. and Mary E. (McDonald) Grady. She graduated from Saint Mary's High School in Milford. She has been a resident of Plainville for the past 9 years moving there from Sharon where she spent 47 years. She worked as a clerk for 16 years in the Town of Sharon's Treasurer's Office. In addition, she served as the bookkeeper for George H. Markt Company, Inc in Sharon.

Mrs. Markt was a member of the Historical Society in Sharon, the VFW Auxillary in Sharon, and Fort Nightly Club of Sharon.

She was a dedicated volunteer for over 25 years delivering Meals on Wheels in Sharon.

Beloved wife of George H. Markt. Loving mother of George H. Markt and his wife Denise of Warwick, NY, Mary A. Alioto and her husband Paul of Norton, Joseph T. Markt and his wife Christine of Sharon, Carol A. Gannon and her husband Steven of Norton, David F. Markt and his wife Elizabeth of Melrose, and Catherine P. Earley and her husband Timothy of Sharon. Cherished grandmother of George and Brooke Markt, Allison and Brittany Alioto, Morgan Markt, Brian and Danny Gannon, Leah and Cameron Markt, and Kevin and Julia Earley. Sister of the late Joseph Grady, Francis Grady, and David Grady. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows 59 Cottage Street Sharon on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
