Mary S. Magnuson

Mrs. Mary S. "Marna" (Karkota) Magnuson died on Wednesday April 8, 2009 peacefully in her Walpole home from Lung Cancer. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 25, 1922, the daughter of Walter and Stefanie (Kuzborska) Karkota. A 1941 graduate of Norwood High School. Mrs. Magnuson has been a resident of Walpole since 1959, moving here from Norwood.

Mary worked as a Waitress at the Fontaine Dicken's Restaurant on Route 1 in Wrentham till it closed; she was there for 15 years. She had previously worked at Kendall Mill in Walpole and later at Polaroid.

She was a volunteer at HESSCO

Beloved wife of Oscar F. Magnuson Loving mother of Paula L. Magnuson of Walpole and the late Peter F. Magnuson Sister of the late Peter Karkota also survived by many nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Friday, April 10, 2009 from 4pm to 7pm. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park Canton, Massachusetts.
