Mary C. Johnson

Mary C. (Burke) Johnson, age 59, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Brighton on September 21, 1959, she was the daughter of John J. Burke (late) and Mary (O’Brien) Burke.  She was raised in Westwood and graduated from Westwood High School with the Class of 1977.  Mary continued her education at Southeastern Massachusetts University completing her bachelor’s degree in 1982. 

 

While working for a real estate management firm she met her future husband, Dave, and they married August 28, 1982.  She and Dave lived in Medfield after the wedding but moved to Walpole in 1984, before starting a family in 1988 and later having triplets in 1990. Mary was a partner at Cornerstone Corporation where she worked for 30 years up until her passing.  She took pride in being a business owner, loved her job and considered the people she worked with as part of her family. 

 

Mary loved nothing more than spending quality time with her family and hosting get togethers, especially Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.  She was a long time General Hospital fan, recording daily shows during the week and binge watching on weekends. Most of all, she was an exceptional shopper and decorator, not just for herself but for her family and friends.

Loving mother of Caitlan Morris and her husband Andrew of Mansfield, Meghan Johnson of Foxborough, Christopher Johnson and his wife Sara of Cumberland, RI, and Lauren DiGiantommaso and her husband Carlo of South Walpole. 

Cherished Nana to Owen Morris.

Devoted daughter to Mary (O’Brien) Burke of Walpole and the late John J. Burke.

Sister to Stephen Burke and his wife Debbie, Kevin Burke and his wife Donna and Carol Fitzpatrick and her husband Eric.

Also survived by many dear nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog “Harry”. 

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mary’s Life Celebration on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole, MA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 10:00 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, MA. Interment will immediately follow at the New Westwood Cemetery, High Street, Westwood, MA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105or visit www.stjude.org.
