Mary E. Giampietro

Mary E. (Burt) Giampietro, age 91, of Walpole, passed away on October 09, 2023 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Wrentham, Massachusetts on March 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rosella A. (Stone) Burt. Mary was raised in Wrentham and attended Wrentham High School until her junior year, when she left her education in order to help care for her younger brother.  

Mary married the love of her life, Andrew Joseph Giampietro, on June 3, 1949, in the Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole, Massachusetts. The pair made their married home in Walpole that same year and started their family. 

In addition to raising seven children, Mary worked hard to provide for her family. Mary held a position with Ruscraft, a greeting card company from Westwood, as well as with Ronnie’s as a sales associate. Mary spent the majority of her career working for the Nabisco chocolate factory in Mansfield on the assembly line, much to the delight of her children. Mary would often bring home chocolates and other goodies, which thrilled both her children and their friends alike.

Mary was a caring and kind mother, and a loving and selfless grandmother. She doted on her grandchildren and when they had children of their own, she doted on them as well. She loved babysitting them and spending time with them as often as she could. When not spending time with her family, Mary could be found working in her yard, tending to the many vegetables she grew in her garden. Mary also enjoyed curling up with a good book or putting together a jigsaw puzzle to pass the time.

Loving mother of Gale Koenig and her husband George of Hartland, Maine, Andrew Giampietro and his wife Donna of Walpole, Donna Bedard and her husband Raymond Sr. of North Attleboro, Barry Giampietro and his wife Heidi of Bethleham, New Hampshire, Mary Lou Knight and her husband Dallas of Plainville, Glenn Giampietro and his wife Christine of North Attleboro, and the late Peter Giampietro.
Cherish grandmother of nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren.
Sister of Philip Burt of Walpole, the late Charles Burt, the late Edith Burt, the late Florence Colitto, and the late Alice Joyce.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Mary's Visitation on Monday, October 16th, 2023 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. At the request of Mary’s family, interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
