Mary A. (MacEachern) Faulkner, age 56, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2020 at her home in Plainville, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 24, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Duncan and Evelyn (MacDonald) MacEachern. She was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1981.
Mary married her beloved husband, John J. Faulkner, on November 14, 1992, in Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. Together, they made their first home in Walpole before settling in Plainville in 1993, Mary welcomed her two children, Alexina and Liam.
After Mary's children were enrolled in school, she took a position with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, working as a clerk at MCI-Norfolk and later at the D.O.C. Headquarters in Milford. She retired from MCI-Cedar Junction in Walpole in 2019, after more than 20 years of dedicated service with the Department of Corrections.
Back at home, Mary enjoyed some quiet time, sitting near the fireplace, reading, quilting, or watching movies with her family close by. She enjoyed spending time in her kitchen too, preparing meals as she gathered her family around the table. Her family wasn’t complete without her furry babies, who she loved so much.
She is survived by her spouse John J. Faulkner; two children, Alexina K. Faulkner and her fiance, Tim Fontaine, of South Attleboro and Liam S. Faulkner of Plainville; one grandson, Hunter; three brothers, David MacEachern and his wife, Valentine, of Plainville, Donald MacEachern and his wife, Carol, of North Attleborough, and Duane MacEachern and his wife, Pamm, of North Attleborough; and a sister in law, Ann MacEachern of Acton, Maine.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Duncan and Evelyn (MacDonald) MacEachern and one brother, Duncan MacEachern.
As a result of the ongoing health crisis in the world and our community and with genuine concern for the well-being of all involved, Mary’s family has decided that her visitation and funeral services will be private. Interment will take place in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. A Memorial Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole will be held when we return to calmer and healthier times. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary's name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or to your local animal shelter. Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
