Mary-Ellen (Frazetti) Conley, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Whitney Place in Medway, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Needham, Massachusetts on January 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Carmelo "Mal" and Ellen (Olsen) Frazetti. Mary-Ellen was raised in Needham, where she graduated from Needham High School with the Class of 1955. Following her graduation, Mary-Ellen continued her education at the Malden Hospital School of Nursing, earning the title of Registered Nurse with the Class of 1958 and completing her clinical rotations in the hospitals of Boston.
Mary-Ellen married her beloved husband, Edward J. Conley, Jr., on December 26, 1959, at Saint Joseph's Church in Needham, while he was on leave from the United States Army. After their wedding, Mary-Ellen joined Ed on various Army bases throughout the United States and Europe. At the completion of Ed's military contract, the Conley family returned to Massachusetts, settling in the small town of Westwood. Once settled, Mary-Ellen took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her three children, Edward, III, Stephen, and Jeanne.
As her children grew up, Mary-Ellen returned to her nursing career, taking a position in pediatric medicine, first at Dr. Robert Franklin's Office in Westwood and later with Dr. Lawrence Brown in Norwood. Mary-Ellen loved her job, taking care of her patients as if they were her own children. Her career continued for many years until her retirement in 1997.
In her retirement, Mary-Ellen enjoyed escaping the cold and snow of New England, spending the winter months in sunny Naples, Florida. While in Naples, she loved spending time with her many friends, enjoying conversation over a game of cribbage. As the winter came to a close, Mary-Ellen looked forward to returning to Massachusetts, opening her home in Falmouth, as summers were better enjoyed on the Cape with her children and grandchildren. More recently, Mary-Ellen and Ed made their home in Walpole, Massachusetts at Royal Crest to be closer to their family.
Throughout her life, Mary-Ellen enjoyed staying active. She regularly toured the neighborhoods around her home with a group of close friends on daily walks and often welcomed them into her home for a game night.
Most of all, Mary-Ellen was devoted to her family. She loved being a Mom and was elated to welcome her grandchildren, taking an active role in their lives. As she began welcoming her great-grandchildren, Mary-Ellen took every opportunity to spend time with them, watching them grow and develop personalities.
