Mary D. (Fiorenza) DuBois, age 97, died in her Walpole, Massachusetts home on Saturday, March 14, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 23, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Ignazio and Antonia (Marullo) Fiorenza. She was raised in the North End of Boston before her family moved to the South End where Mary graduated from high school in 1935.
Mary married the love of her life, Armand J. DuBois on January 18, 1942, and he was immediately drafted to serve during World War II. After Armand's return from the service, they settled in West Roxbury to raise their young family. In 1961 they moved to Dedham, Massachusetts and as Mary's family grew older, she took a job with Blue Cross Blue Shield. She worked as a claims processer for 10 years at their Summer Street location in Boston. In 1980, Mary and Armand settled in Walpole, Massachusetts.
As an excellent cook, Mary loved to feed and care for others, this led her to volunteer, with her husband, at the West Roxbury Veterans Aministration Hospital for 17 years. Together, Mary and Armand would serve coffee and home made pastries to the veterans coming in for appointments.
