Martha Jean (Sawyer) Randall, 92, of Peterborough, NH, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on March 28, 2025. Martha was born December 2, 1932, in Ayer, MA, daughter of Ralph and Helen (Blackwell) Sawyer, where she grew up in Littleton, MA.
A graduate of Littleton High School (1950) and Burdett College, Martha met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Randall, at Burdett. They married in 1953 and built a life together in Virginia, Natick, Wellesley, and landing in Westwood, MA, where they raised their family. Martha was deeply involved in the First Parish of Westwood and its Couples Club, Girl Scouts and Dedham DeMolay Mothers Club. She started her career as a bookkeeper for Westwood Credit Union and then Dedham Travel. There she learned the travel business and became a travel agent before co-owning Chestnut Hill Colpitts Travel Center, where she and Bob shared their passion for travel.
A talented quilter and knitter, Martha crafted for charity, making comfort quilts and prayer shawls. She remained active in quilting well into her 90s, enjoying road trips to fabric shops and quilt shows. She also loved puzzles, games, and baking—her mint brownies and apple pies were favorites at school, church and family events.
