Marjorie F. (Vient) DiLorenzo, 81, of Medfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Wingate in Needham, MA. She was born on September 22, 1937, in Quincy, MA to the late Noel “Bob” and Marjorie S. (Vickers) Vient. Marjorie was a 1955 graduate of Quincy High School. She married the late Bernard A. DiLorenzo, of Waltham MA., on December 26, 1959. They raised two children in Medfield, MA. Marjorie was the executive secretary of the electrical engineering office and lab at GTE Sylvania for many years until her children were born. She was a very loving and devoted mother, wife and caregiver to her beloved husband . Marjorie held many different part-time jobs in retail. She was a long-time active member of the Medfield Garden Club, Hannah Adams Club, The Doric Dames of the Boston State House, Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and The New England Unit of the Herbal Society of America. Marjorie loved life and was a woman of many talents and interests. Her kindness to many knew no bounds. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Christopher A. DiLorenzo of Norton, MA, her daughter Johanna DiLorenzo of Medfield, MA, her daughter-in-law, Jocelyn (Paille) DiLorenzo, her beloved grandchildren, Joseph C. DiLorenzo of Arlington, MA and Anya E. DiLorenzo of Norton, MA. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Julie. She was the dear sister of Alice Shannon of Watertown, Mary Lou Bando of White River Junction, Vermont, Walter Vient of Vienna, Virginia, Kathleen Girard Dellechiaie of Stoneybrook, New York, Bernice Conway of Braintree, the late William Vient, the late Jeanne Lindsay Laquidara, the late Phyllis Pray, the late Winona Cordella, the late Madelyn Donahue, the late Carolyn Sondeen, and the late Suzanne Carabin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Marjorie’s Life Celebration on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Saint Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring Street (Route 27), Medfield on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private.
