Marion R. (Pitts) McAdams age 84 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 8, 1926; she was the daughter of the late John & Catherine (Rowell) Pitts. She graduated from the Dorchester High School for Girls with the class of 1944. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1960 moving there from Roslindale.
Mrs. McAdams was an adminitrative assistant for the Department of Employment Security in both Norwood and Boston for 42 years. She retired in 1998.
She enjoyed dancing, especially at the Elks and the American Legion both in Norwood. She was a member of Walpole Women's Club and served as the Past President, the Norwood Irish Social Club, and the Dancing Club at King Philip in Wrentham.
Mrs. McAdams also enjoyed traveling, espcially on the Senior Bus trips.
Beloved wife of William J. McAdams. Devoted daughter of the late John and Catherine (Rowell) Pitts. Sister of Geraldine F. Stafford of N. Easton, the late John Pitts,Jr., the late Donald Pitts and the late William Pitts. Sister in law of Robert and his wife Shirley McAdams of N. Falmouth, Donald McAdams of Falmouth, and Patsy and her husband Robert Lake of Norwood. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:30AM. Visiting hours are Friday, March 25, 2011 from 4PM to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
