Marilyn M. McVane

Marilyn M. (Bernard) McVane age 77 years died peacefully in her Norwood, Massachusetts home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Rose Marie (Cappadona) Bernard. She graduated from Saint Joseph's Academy in Roxbury with the class of 1952. She has been a resident of Norwood for the past 35 years moving there from Canton.

She worked as an administrative assistant at the American Supply Company in Boston for 30 years.

She enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardens, and was an avid reader. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially around the pool.

Beloved wife of M. Joseph McVane. Sister of Diane Bernard of Norwood and the late Joan R. Nolan. Loving aunt of Richard Nolan of Norwood, Linda McGrath, Laura Spadoni both of Walpole and Karen McCarthy of Norfolk and their loving spouses. Also survived by 11 great neices and nephews. Step mother of Marilyn McVane of Franklin, Michael McVane, III of Plymouth, David McVane of Cohasset, and Brian McVane of Hingham.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Denis Church Route 1A Westwood on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, December 2, 2011 from 4PM to 7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.
