Marilyn Ann (Boyden) Lipsett, age 84, passed away in the Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts on April 8, 2016. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Doris L. (Mattson) Boyden. Her family lived in Norwood for a brief time, before settling in East Walpole, where she was raised. Marilyn graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1949 and after graduation, took a position as a telephone operator with New England Telephone.
She left Walpole for a short time, living in Millis, but as her family began to grow, Marilyn came back to Walpole to raise her young family. As her three boys began attending school, she took a part time position managing the Walpole High School cafeteria in the early 1960's. in the early 1980's, Marilyn began working at Kohler Industries in Walpole, where she worked alongside her son Rick. As a position opened up in the Norwood Hospital in the mid 1980's, Marilyn left both Kohler and Walpole High School to begin her new, full time career as a nutritional aide. She retired in (1996) after 10 years of dedicated service to the patients of Norwood Hospital.
In her retirement, Marilyn enjoyed traveling across the United States, visiting many of the National Parks, as well as Florida, Hawaii, and Cape Cod, in addition to Canada. She loved spending time at the beach, especially visiting Old Silver Beach and Humarock and spending time around "her pool" in Walpole with a good book. In her younger years she was an avid skier and later enjoyed taking walks.
Most important to Marilyn was her family, she loved hosting different holidays for her sons and families, especially Walpole's Fourth of July celebration with her fantastic seats for the fireworks. As her family began to grow with the addition of her grandchildren, she would regularly attend their sporting events to cheer them on.
