Marie C. (McKeague) Pokorski, age 91, of Sharon, Massachusetts passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Charlwell House in Norwood, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Bridgit (McGonigle) McKeague. She was raised in Roxbury, where she graduated from Mission Hill Catholic High School with the Class of 1947.
Two years after her high school graduation, Marie married her beloved husband, Joseph F. Pokorski, and together, they made their home in Jamaica Plain, where Marie took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. The young couple later made their home in Roslindale for a short time before settling in Sharon, Massachusetts in 1957.
As her children grew up, Marie took classes to earn her real estate license, which she obtained in 1974. She took her first position as a broker in the Lee Gold Real Estate Office in Sharon. She went on to work at Jerry Abbott Real Estate in Mansfield and later returned to Sharon, taking a position with Florence Kates Real Estate. Marie transitioned to the role of administrative assistant in 2000, helping all the brokers in her office until her retirement in 2010.
When she wasn't hard at work, Marie loved spending time on the golf course. She was a longtime member of the Easton Country Club, where she met many new friends over the years. She and Joe took countless trips over the years, making memories in Ireland, Greece, Spain, Hawaii, and Aruba. Back at home in Sharon, Marie loved spending time in her yard, caring for her many flower gardens.
