Maria (Caniglia) Sabatini age 96 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Monday, December 27, 2010. Born in Vila St. Maria, Italy on May 23, 1914; she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Sabina (Marchitelli) Caniglia. Mrs. Sabatini came to the United States from Italy at the age of 18. She has been a resident of both Walpole and Centerville, Massachusetts for the past 2 years moving from West Roxbury, where she spent 49 years.
She was a homemaker for all of her adult life, raising and caring for her family.
Mrs. Sabatini was a member of the West Roxbury Women's Club and the Don Orione Home in East Boston.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, telling stories, and traveling to Italy.
Beloved wife of the late Aurelio L. Sabatini. Loving mother of Tino D. and his wife Patricia Sabatini of Centerville and George A. and his wife Phyllis Sabatini of Walpole. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Sabatini, John Sabatini, Peter Sabatini, Paul Sabatini, Jennifer Fraone, and Alisa Fraone. Sister of the late Annita DiCicco. Loving cousin of Marietta Marchitelli.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 9- 10:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Theresa of Avila Church 2078 Centre Street West Roxbury on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:30AM. Interment will be in the Newton Cemetery in Newton, Massachusetts. Memorial donations may be made to: Don Orione Home 111 Orient Avenue East Boston, Massachusetts 02128.
