Marguerite Mary Burns

Marguerite "Peg" Mary (Flaherty) Burns age 81 years died in the Harrington House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walpole, Massachusetts on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Born in South Boston, Massachusetts on February 25, 1930; she was the daughter of the late Bartley Flaherty, from the Aran Islands, Ireland, and the late Mary (Greene) Flaherty, from Carna, Ireland. She graduated from the Girls High School in Boston, Massachusetts with the class of 1947. She has been a resident of Norwood, Massachusetts for the past 56 years moving there from Boston.

She was a sales associate at Kline's in Norwood Center for 15 years.

Mrs. Burns loved spending time with her family.

Beloved wife of Daniel E. Burns. Loving mother of Paul F. and his wife Suzanne Burns of Wakefield, Linda M. and her husband Joseph Shannon of Sheridan, AR, Daniel E. Burns, Jr. and his partner Nina Mitra of Boston, Mary J. Burns-Ferri and her partner Mark Ferri of Byfield, and Carol A. and her husband Scott Belliveau of Northboro. Cherished grandmother of 8 grandchildren. Sister of Joseph and his wife Fran Flaherty of Scituate and the late John "Jack" Flaherty. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Timothy's Church Nichols Street Norwood on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. Memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
