Margaret Jean Stahl

October 17, 1929 — December 22, 2018

Margaret Jean (Conaty) Stahl, age 89, passed away in her daughter’s Foxborough, Massachusetts home on Saturday, December 22, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on October 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Margaret E. (Morgan) Conaty.  As a lifelong resident of Walpole, Massachusetts, Jean graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1947.  She continued her education at Fitchburg State College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in 1951.

Following her graduation, Jean married her beloved husband, John “Jack” Stahl, in 1951.  The young couple made their home together in Walpole, where they welcomed their four daughters.  Jean took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her growing family.  As her daughters grew up, Jean began working as a substitute teacher in the Walpole School System.  She went on to take a position with the Wrentham Council on Aging and later the Westwood Council on Aging, working in outreach until her retirement in 2013.

Jean kept a very busy schedule, even when she wasn’t at work.  She was a very active member of the United Church in Walpole and spent countless hours volunteering with the Cape Fire Girls and the Walpole Women’s Club.  She enjoyed a full social calendar as well, attending square dances, crafting events, and traveling with friends.  Most of all, Jean loved being surrounded by her family and looked forward to seeing everyone at the holidays.

Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Stahl.
Loving mother of Joan Henry and her husband, Chuck, of Fitchburg, Jill Connors of Westminster, Judi Ciriello and her husband, Tony, of Foxborough, and Joyce DeGerolamo of Walpole.
Cherished grandmother of Lisa DeGeralamo of Jamaica Plain, Shevaun Connors of San Diego, California, Patrick Connors and his wife, April, of Gardner, Steven Connors of Westminster, Parker Henry of New Haven, Connecticut, Merrick Henry of Leominster, and Christopher Ciriello of Foxborough.  Great grandmother of Daniel McLaughlin of Foxborough.
