Margaret “Peg” M. (Sinacola) Farretta, age 87, passed away peacefully in her Pembroke, Massachusetts home on Thursday, August 22, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Margaret M. (Kellett) Sinacola.  She was raised in the Jamaica Plain area of Boston and graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in Brookline with the Class of 1949, where as a young woman, she found her love for drawing.

Peg married her beloved husband, Robert A. Farretta, on April 6, 1950 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Jamaica Plain.  The young couple made their home together in Roslindale, where Peg took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.  After spending a short time in Hyde Park, the family returned to Roslindale before settling in Sharon, Massachusetts in 1967.

Throughout her life Peg loved reading, taking a strong interest in English History, and enjoyed completing various crossword puzzles.  She also enjoyed feeding and watching the local bird populations around her home, always ensuring the bird seed was safe from mischievous squirrels.  Most of all, Peg loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and her great granddaughter.  As a great cook, she always put on a wonderful meal for her family to enjoy together.
