Margaret Mary (Monahan) Moore age 98 years died at the Harrington House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walpole, Massachusetts on Monday, Decemebr 13, 2010. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 20, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Reilly) Monahan. She was a graduate from Dorchster High School. Mrs. Moore has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1998 moving there from Dorchester where she spent all of her life.
She was a sewing teacher at the Jamacia Plain High School and later at the Solomon Llewenberg School in Mattapan for many years. In addition she was a Home Health Care Worker in Boston from 1980 to 1992.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole and the St. Ambrose Church in Dorchester Baptismal Teams where she made Baptimsal Robes. She was also a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church Wednesday Morning Prayer Group, the Cursillo Community, and was a faithful Communicant. She was active in AA in both the Dorchester Community Group and the Westwood Sunday Night Group.
She was an avid reader, loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking everywhere. Mrs. Moore loved everyone, and most especially she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Francis S. Moore. Loving mother of Margaret M. Ceurvels of Walpole and Patricia Anne Wilkins of Marysville, WA. Cherished grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 11. Sister of the late Thomas G. Monahan. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 4-8 PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Mount Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.
