Margaret M. (Macomber) Lohmiller, age 92, died in the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in West Roxbury, Massachusetts on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Born in Washington, DC on January 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Eleanor (Hill) Macomber. She graduated from Saint Clements High School in Somerville with the class of 1940. She has been a resident of Sharon, Massachusetts since 1964 moving from Waltham.
She worked as a civilian for the Department of the Army in occupied Germany from 1946 to 1948 and was present for the Berlin Airlift. Margaret transitioned to life as a homemaker, to care for and raise her family.
She enjoyed traveling the world and was a strong supporter of displaced Vietnamese families.
Beloved wife of the late Charles F. Lohmiller Loving mother of Charles B. and his wife Muazzez Lohmiller, K. Frank Lohmiller all of Sharon, E. Andrea and her husband Charles Barstow of Perry, Maine the late Melanie Lohmiller and the late Nancy E. Lohmiller. Cherished grandmother of Nancy Lohmiller of Boston, Maggie Lohmiller of Rocky Hill, CT, Frederick L. Barstow, Grace E. Barstow both of Perry, ME, and the late Linda Belliveau. Great Grandmother of 2. Sister of the late Eleanor Ray, the late Elizabeth Griffin and the late Francis X. Macomber. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY, 10001.
