Margaret H. Keefe

February 17, 1933 — February 8, 2016

Margaret H. (Blackmur) Keefe, age 82, passed away peacefully in her daughter's South Walpole home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, February 8, 2016. Born in Melrose, Massachusetts on February 17, 1933, she was raised in the Oak Square section of Brighton in Boston. She graduated from Saint Columbkille High School with the Class of 1952. After graduation, Margaret worked on Newbury Street in Boston, before meeting her soon to be husband, Charles A. Keefe, in 1957.

Margaret and Charles were married on January 18, 1958 in Our Lady of the Presentation in Brighton. They made their home in Connecticut and Margaret took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family. After a brief time living in Rhode Island, Margaret and her family settled in Walpole, Massachusetts.

She returned to the working world in the early 1970's with Datel Corp, where she stayed for the rest of her career. She became the Human Resources Director and in the early 1990's, became a part owner of the company. In September of 2000, Margaret retired, but maintained many long term friendships with her colleagues.

Margaret enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, working on crossword puzzles, watching Boston sports, and traveling. Her love of traveling began as a young woman, when she and Charles took annual cruises with their other couple friends. She passed her love for travel to the rest of her family as she took them on many vacations around the world.
Beloved wife of the late Charles A. Keefe.
Loving mother of Judith A. Keefe-Modelane and her husband Daniel of Norfolk, Carolyn T. Kelly and her husband Joseph of South Walpole, and Paul A. Keefe and his wife Maria De Tomas of St. Louis, MO.
