Margaret Elizabeth (Nangle) "Betty" Falcone, age 85, passed away in her Norfolk, Massachusetts home on Friday, April 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Anderson) Nangle. She was raised in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and graduated from the Michael J. Curley High School with the Class of 1951.
Betty married her beloved husband, Louis T. "Musty" Falcone, shortly after graduation, on June 17, 1951 in Saint Ann's Church in Boston. The young couple made their home together in East Walpole, Massachusetts, however over the course of the next twelve years, they moved to various locations across the United States, as Musty was still on active duty in the military. In 1963, Betty and Musty settled in Norfolk, Massachusetts, where Betty took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.
After her children were all enrolled in school, Betty took a job at the Red Fox, working as a waitress. She later began working as a hostess at the Lafayette House, where she welcomed guests for 15 years, before spending a short time greeting guests at the Horse and Carriage.
More than anything, Betty was dedicated to her family. As a devoted wife and mother, she offered her unwavering support to her family in all of their endeavors. She loved traveling with her husband, Musty, taking memorable trips to Spain, Bermuda, Florida, California, and Nevada. Betty was delighted at the birth of her grandchildren and loved the opportunity to help care for them. Affectionately known as the "Candy Lady" she was always present for all their athletic competitions and events, giving out bubble gum to all the kids.
