Madelain L. (Blais) Tomasello, age 84, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Alliance Health at Maples in Wrentham, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on June 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Laura M. (Moreau) Blais. Madelain was raised in Norwood, where she graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1957.
Madelain married her high school sweetheart, William T. Tomasello, on November 14, 1959, at Saint Catherine's Church in Norwood. The young couple initially made their home on Oak Street in Walpole, where Madelain took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. In addition to raising her children, Madelain took on various jobs throughout her life, working at Polaroid in Norwood, Project Face in Walpole, and alongside her daughter Nancy, operating a home cleaning business. However the role that Madelain loved most was being a Mom. She ensured her family had a well kept home, hot meals for supper, and looked forward to hosting everyone around her table for Sunday dinner. As their family grew, Madelain and Bill moved into a home on Mill Pond Road in Walpole, overlooking Turner's Pond. In 1990, Madelain and Bill decided to "visit" Florida and made their home for five years in Port Charlotte. Upon their return home to Massachusetts, they first settled in Attleboro and went on to spend a few years in Plainville before making their home in Foxborough fifteen years ago.
Throughout her life, Madelain loved to travel with her husband, Bill. They enjoyed several trips to Europe, visiting destinations in Italy, Switzerland, France and Ireland. Back at home in the United States, the couple looked forward to road trips to Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Madelain and Bill had a special love for the small town of Jackman, Maine, where they celebrated their wedding with an impromptu honeymoon many years ago. As a Canadian descendent, Madelain maintained a fascination with her family's homeland, making many trips north to trace her ancestry. Wherever Madelain traveled, she ensured there was a day or two dedicated to visiting local shops for a shopping spree, which usually transformed itself into a social outing.
