M. Frances (Fitzgibbon) Blaney, age 90 years, died in the Norwood Hospital on Friday, November 15, 2013. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late David P. and Mary Frances (Yourell) Fitzgibbon. She graduated from Girls High School in Roxbury with the class of 1940. She has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1952, where she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church for 61 years. She had previously resided in Jamaica Plain.
Frances spent her adult life primarily as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed Sunday dinners and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a great friend, who loved her family, a good story, and especially loved to make people laugh.
Beloved wife of the late John F. Blaney, Sr. Loving mother of Mary Frances Blaney of Walpole, David J. Blaney and his wife Kathleen of Niantic, CT, John F. Blaney, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Plymouth, Marianne Blaney of Jamaica Plain, Rosemary Wywoda and her husband Daniel of Beverly, and Margaret Mary Blaney-Pilkey and her husband David of Newington, CT. Cherished grandmother of Kelly, Maura, John, Timothy, Shane, Isabella, and Michael and great grandmother of Griffin, Henry, and Lila. Sister of the late Joseph Fitzgibbon.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Frances' Life Celebration on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 4-8 PM and Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 9:30-10 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Boston Catholic Television, PO Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471.
